Project Detail

Project is located around Çukurçayır village of Araklı district within Trabzon city which is inside Eastern Black Sea Basin. Ortacag weir was designed at 894.65 m talveg elevation of Çukurçayır Creek.

The weir is equipped with 12 high capacity 1.0 mm opening Coanda Screens. The conveyance of water from weir to headpond is done by 2784.50 m length free flow tunnel. Water level regulation is controlled by weir because there is no overflow spillway at headpond. The 1100 mm diameter 915.0 m length penstock was installed over-ground. There exists only one vertical six jet Pelton turbine manufactured by CKD Blansko inside power house where total installed power is 12.94 MW. The axes of runners are designed at 397.50 m M.S.L.

Ortacag project is a good sample where design simplifies easiness of operation.
